Siva’s prophecy came true, and it was Hank’s worst nightmare. Hank watched his beloved city overrun by gangs, serial killers, and pixie dust dealers. He saw the fae humanized and turned into brainwashed zombies. Finally, he was set up -framed as a murderer and a terrorist- and betrayed by the woman he loved. Now he’s back, and somebody’s going to pay.
Hank’s return to the undercity begins with a rude awakening. In the wake of the massive terrorist attack, the Undercity Police Department has collapsed. The fae are being terrorized by a self-appointed dictator who calls himself “The Governor,” and his army of jackbooted thugs known as Peacekeepers. Hank has a lot of work to do if he’s going to straighten things out, but in the meanwhile, there’s something else he has to do.
First, he’s got to solve a few murders, one of which is particularly personal. Then, he’s going to find Siva and make her pay for what she’s done…

The basics of each book in this series is described elsewhere and so I am reviewing the series in whole. Each individual book gets a five. That said, I review books based on the writing, not the editing as some people do. Because of this, I will state up front that the books would not get a five if editing was factored in. A good editor is definitely needed, but I've seen worse. There were a few minor discrepancies from book to book and out of order words that slowed things a few times. From my standpoint, small things compared to the enjoyment I received from reading this treasure.
Although there may be similar books out there of which I am unaware, I found this writing and storyline to be unique and refreshing. The main characters, strange as they were, became real and cared for.
This author definitely has a way with words and his own special way of using them. This book had some humor but it was not a humorous book. It was actually a very violent series. There was sex but not graphic. There was satire and innuendoes. I do not remember any foul language.
The books can each be read standalone on their own merits, but I would recommend reading them in order. The last, Book 6, was the shortest but probably my favorite. It wouldn't have been if read alone because you really need tthe history to appreciate it.
My main complaint with this series was the length of the books. They were way too short. In my opinion, with a little more work, this could have been made an epic in the line of an adult Harry Potter but starring Hank Mossberg and friends. Jamie Sedgwick, this writing was genius, but I don't think you realized it. Get back to work (please).

I loved this series and hope for it to continue! Thanks!
another good read!
Didn’t expected this turn, a perfect way to end a story. Such a pity it’s over now....
I really enjoyed this series. I wish it would keep going. Hank keeps you interested and intrigued the whole time.
great read can't wait for the next one
Great ending to a fantastic series! Hank was a great character and his stories kept me going from one book to the next with a great deal of anticipation. Love the stories! Keep writing, I love your fantasies.
Thank you,
Lynn
Wonderful ending to a great book series. Loved the "It's a Wonderful Life" vibe from this story. Where Hank gets to see what life is like for the Fae people of the Undercity while he was "dead." After years of despair and loneliness even contemplating suicide at one point because every time he tries to do the right thing, having it go so spectacularly wrong. And the people of Undercity find out just how much they needed him after treating him like a pariah for so many years. You never know what you've got until it it's gone. Like a dysfunctional marriage where one spouse leaves but then they find out that maybe their marriage wasn't so bad after all.
Hank finally gets to find out what happened to his people in a bitter sweet revelation that makes perfect sense. The ending is satisfying but open ended leaving plenty of room for a sequel series of books.
